Children’s Colorado Opens Newest Location to Serve Western Colorado and Eastern Utah Families

Children’s Hospital Colorado, a top-ranked pediatric hospital in the country, has been providing pediatric care to patients and families along Colorado's Western Slope for many years, with providers and team members who consistently deliver close-to-home care for children in the region. Now, families in the region and eastern Utah will have access to even more services and specialties all consolidated under one roof at our newest location: Children’s Colorado Outpatient Care, Grand Junction. 

On October 3, Children’s Colorado Outpatient Care, Grand Junction welcomed its first patient at the new location, and team members from across the state came to celebrate its grand opening.

“It’s a part of our mission to provide the highest level of pediatric care to kids close to home,” said Suzy Jaeger, senior vice president, chief patient experience and access officer. “We are committed to providing specialized pediatric-only care in all of the communities we serve. It’s with tremendous excitement we are able to expand our clinics and bring them under one roof in Grand Junction for kids through Eastern Utah and Western Colorado to make it easier and safer for parents to get their kids the medical care they need and deserve close to home.”

This new location marks Children’s Colorado’s 15th location in the state of Colorado and will be home to 23 providers across eight different pediatric specialties – with more specialties coming soon. The 3,100-square-foot facility will include 10 exam rooms, an exercise room, a full pulmonary function testing lab and a procedure room (to perform EKGs, echocardiograms, etc.)

“Having lived in the region for five years, I’ve observed firsthand the need for expanded specialty pediatric care and experts trained in treating the unique, complex needs of youth in this area,” said Benjamin Hughes, MD, Children’s Colorado pediatric pulmonologist and sleep medicine physician. “I’ve been a provider with Children’s Colorado for 14 years, so not only is the opening of our newest location near and dear to my heart, but it’s a mission I am extremely proud to be a part of. I’m especially excited to see more specialties available to kids in the region who deserve the best specialty care in their own backyard.”

The clinic is located in the Primary Care Partners Medical Building at 3150 North 12th St.​, 1st Floor Monument West​ in Grand Junction, Colo. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are by referral only. To get a referral to one of our specialists, patients can talk to their primary care provider.
