Adolescent Breast and Chest Program

Our Adolescent Breast and Chest Program is a multidisciplinary program that treats children and adolescents with breast and chest differences. Our team evaluates young women and men to treat both congenital (present at birth) and acquired conditions, including macromastia (large breasts), gynecomastia (male breast development), chest wall anomalies and chest wall reconstruction.

Brachial Plexus Center

Our Brachial Plexus Center specializes in caring for children with brachial plexus injuries. This type of injury involves damage to nerves that travel from the spine to the shoulder and arm. We also treat infants with brachial plexus birth palsy, which is an injury to the brachial plexus that occurs when a baby is being born.

Burn Scar Reconstruction Program

Our Burn Scar Reconstruction Program is the only program in Colorado dedicated to treating pediatric burn patients and providing burn prevention education. For this program, the Pediatric Plastic Surgery Department works with the Burn Center, which treats burns and skin injuries in babies, kids and teens, including rehabilitation and scar reconstruction. Our burn care team is here to treat and help you and your family through what can be a difficult experience.

Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic

Our Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic treats children with cleft lip and palate conditions as well as submucous cleft palate, velopharyngeal incompetence and dysfunction, and oral-motor coordination problems.

Pediatric plastic surgeons at Children’s Colorado perform all stages of surgery for children with cleft lip and palate conditions, such as the initial cleft lip repair, palate repair, nasal surgery and the final jaw surgery at skeletal maturity. Our team is recognized as an official Cleft Palate Team — a national distinction from the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.

Comprehensive Wound Program

The Comprehensive Wound Program is an inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary wound program that cares for children and young adults with chronic or difficult-to-heal wounds. The inpatient team targets acute needs, while the outpatient team uses a holistic approach to manage patients who are undergoing a more long-term wound healing.

Craniofacial Orthognathic Program

Our Craniofacial Orthognathic Program is the only one of its type in the region, providing orthodontic dental care to children with dental issues and upper and lower jaws that are uneven. These include children who have underdeveloped lower jaws, underdeveloped upper jaws, treated cleft palate patients and post-traumatic patients.

In addition, the program provides essential preoperative nasoalveolar molding for infants born with wide cleft lip and palates, setting the stage for successful surgery.

Craniofacial Center

Our Craniofacial Center provides comprehensive services for diagnosing and managing congenital and acquired deformities of the soft and hard tissues of the head, face and neck. We operate the leading program in the Rocky Mountain region for treating patients with craniosynostosis and dysmorphic craniofacial abnormalities.

Our team also provides craniofacial surgery for deformities caused by facial fractures, dog bites and other traumatic injuries to restore both form and function to children.

Facial Palsy Program

The Facial Palsy Program, part of the Department of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Children's Colorado, treats kids with facial nerve disorders. Children can be born with a facial nerve disorder or acquire it later in life from an accident or illness. The plastic surgeons at Children’s Colorado are dedicated to providing the highest quality treatment with state-of-art equipment to kids, teens and young adults.

Pediatric Hand Program

Our Pediatric Hand Program treats infants and children with traumatic injuries to the hand and forearm, including fractures, soft tissue injuries and burns. The program also provides multidisciplinary care to patients with congenital anomalies like syndactyly (fused digits), finger duplications and thumb anomalies.
