The choice to get bariatric surgery can be a difficult one. The goal for your child is always health and happiness, but sometimes the answer to weight loss questions isn’t so obvious. Underlying conditions can play a large part in unexplained weight gain in adolescents and teens. So it’s important to understand these conditions and weigh all the treatment options before committing to surgery.

Our bariatric surgery and weight loss team has done extensive research to find the best treatments for children who are overweight depending on their age, medical conditions and goals. When looking at weight loss options for your child, get a second opinion from the experienced bariatric surgery and weight loss team at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Our weight loss experts have helped thousands of children overcome their weight problems either through bariatric surgery or non-surgical treatment.

Understanding why a person is gaining weight is the first step to the best treatment. That’s why we make it easy to get a second opinion appointment. First, schedule an initial informational phone call with our team to discuss your child’s health history. After that call, our team will decide which specialists will be best for your child to see for an in-person second opinion appointment.
