The incidence of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) is rapidly rising, particularly in hospitalized children and is considered a severe problem because of associated complications including pulmonary embolism, cerebrovascular events as well as post-thrombotic syndrome. The purpose of this pathway is to standardize the diagnosis and clinical management of VTE in children.
